The Charter of the Ancient Guardians
We are a family first, upholding a common bond. Our wish is to grow together, sharing our
knowledge and resources, earning the respect of ourselves and others. While differing opinions
and goals certainly exist amongst us, common courtesy is the order of the day.
Communication and participation are the keys to our success. We turn to our family members
for knowledge, power, and assistance. We offer our family members the same. It is understood
that we know the difference between asking and begging; it is also understood that helping
someone with a quest is different than performing that quest for someone.
We speak well of ourselves and others as a form of respect, and avoid profanity and vulgarity.
In our dealings with others, we are fair and considerate. In group situations, we know what
roles we fill and respect the leaders. We abide by the formal and informal rules that make up
our community in Norrath.
Roleplaying is strongly encouraged.
Becoming a Guardian
If you're interested in joining our family, here's how to go about it.
- If your character hasn't reached 10th level yet, go and do that, first.
- Familiarize yourself with what we stand for (conveniently summarized in the charter
above). If you want the chance to hunt and explore with people you trust, and if you
enjoy roleplaying, you're on the right track. If you're looking for handouts,
power-leveling, or exploits, you'll be happier somewhere else.
- Indicate your interest to a current Ancient Guardian. If they agree that you'd be a good fit
with the family, they will recommend you to the Regent and/or a Protector.
- With the approval of the Regent or a Protector, you will become a probationer of the
Ancient Guardians and added to our list of probationers.
- During this probationary period, visit our message boards and introduce yourself. This
is mandatory. The message boards and this web site are our main forms of communication
and planning. We also encourage you to spend this time getting to know our Guardians,
joining us at our events, and hunting with us.
- At the end of the probationary period, with approval of the Protectors, your character will
promoted to full Guardian rank. Your character become a Guardian, and our family becomes
stronger and wiser with your help.
It is worth stating explicitly that acceptance is neither immediate nor guaranteed.
At the same time, we're pretty friendly. If you've gone through all of this and still think that
our family is for you you're probably right!
