Promotions!

Congratulations and welcome to several new full Guardians! Aryani Goodheal, Harpar Battlesong, Ylona Sowgood, Farielle Fizzlenaught, Loquen Bonechiller, Brenar Nightwind and Lauxcleu Vainqueur have all passed their probationary period and today are promoted to full Guardian rank. Normally, a new Family member spends about two weeks as a Probationer before being promoted to full Guardian.

The Regent encourages all new Guardians to choose a Guardian title that exemplifies the core beliefs of that Guardian. Consider well, and post your choice of Guardian title to the Courtyard message board!

Inactive MembersMember is inactive. Last check-in: Over 30 days ago

A number of our brothers and sisters haven't been seen in a while. On the Members page, you may notice an Inactive symbol next to your character's name. This means that we've not seen your character ingame, nor heard from him/her in the Guardian Keep, in more than thirty days. If you hover your mouse pointer over the Inactive symbol, you'll see an explanation appear.

If your character has been marked Inactive, you can check in and update his or her status in several ways:

After thirty days of Inactive status, the inactive character is subject to removal from the Roster. Don't let that happen!

Family Growing

The Family of Ancient Guardians is growing! Within one week, ten new Probationers were been added, and at the Welcoming party for these new members, two more new members were brought in, and two others spoke of joining us soon! The sheer number of our presence in West Commonlands that night was seen as "intimidating" by some of the players passing by there! *chokes back laughter* Can you imagine?!

Lots of Happenings!

We have many events being scheduled currently. If you check the Event Calendar and the Guardian Keep, you'll find out a lot more! The Guild MOTD also has information about upcoming events. Some of the raids that Harpar Battlesong will be leading need early sign-ups, so he knows what to expect! Other Family members are leading little impromptu raids/hunts, almost on a daily basis, and that's creating some extra fun!

A celebration of our new Probationers was very successful! About 22 Guardians arrived in the West Commonlands for the festivities. We added two more probationers that evening, and raised the Guesting Cup with a pair of Halflings, Tulu and Tulous, friends of Gwanalla visiting from distant lands!

You just think you know what those pillars are, in the caves of Great Divide! A group of Guardians found out quickly that, in actuality, they are the petrified remains of the Wurms caught in the spells of adventurers seeking the spells they leave behind!

Schedule Your Events!

Remember to use our Event Calendar if you want to schedule something. It's available to all, and we encourage you to check it every day! The more you join in and allow others to hear your voice, the more you will feel like part of the Family. Daily checking of the Guardian Keep is your best way to become acquainted with the Family and know what's going on!

Promotions!

Hoist an ale with Slinter, Gata and Nirt, all recently promoted to Guardian, and congratulations to Jhales and Radyn, both of whom were recently selected to serve as Ministers. Also, brother Thoraous was appointed as Elder Advisor to assist the Regent with the new Council of Elders.

New Pictures for the Scrapbook!

There are many new screenshots in the Scrapbook, all sent in by Family members. The Scrapbook is open for business! Your pictures can be here, too — just send your screenshots to scrapbook@ancientguardians.com, and we'll publish the funniest and best of them, right here on the front page!

What's Cookin'? - Future Iron Chef competitor Ylona found just the thing for her "secret ingredient". Our own Farielle sits in a pot and stews about the prospects, but would rather contribute what she can for her friend than fuss! At least we know it will be sweet!

"The Ranger's not gonna like this, Maggie!" - Two Guardians stroll the lands together and look for trouble to get into. These two are usually successful! We just couldn't "bear" not to publish this.

Although a it was a quiet night, some of us got together for a New Year's party by the Hole, a favorite meeting place of the Guardians. There was plenty to eat and drink, supplied by our Minister of Recreation, and we all relaxed and enjoyed one another's company.

After the Welcoming party, the Ancient Guardians sat together as the sun set, and enjoyed the closeness of Friendship and Respect, two of the main qualities seen throughout the Family and revered by all! The calm of the evening was well-received and gave everyone a chance to get to know each other better.

Here's a shot of Tangletwigs and Miss Jhales warming their tootsies on the meteorite in the Burning Wood. Miss J was nice enough to give Tangle a quick tour, and they slew a couple of giants and a wurm while there, not to mention a Cinder Hornet that snuck up while they were posing for the shot.

Kaldarra reported seeing an odd thing in East Commonlands - a glowing, bobbing sphere of light, moving across the darkened ground. Is it the glow from a Spear of Fate? Is it an unknown creature? You make the call!

Be well, and enjoy your time together!

Off To A Rockin' Start!

Click for a bigger image! This New Year has started with a big "Yahoo!" for the Family!

Already we are saying hello to eight new probationers! They are: Aryani Goodheal, Harpar Battlesong, Ylona Sowgood, Loquen Bonechiller, Farielle Fizzlenaught, Danelar, Gata and Maarioto.

The first five mentioned came to us together, last night in the Southern Desert of Ro. They had been searching Norrath for a Family since September, and through initial contacts with Radyn, decided to look at us. And look at us they did... closely! After a very enjoyable meeting with Ministers, the Elder Counsel and Protectors last night, they asked if we would accept them into our Family. It was a most joyous occasion, and I thank all those who were there and who participated in the discussion. They are all elegible for the Elder's Council, as well, after their probation period is completed.

Welcome, each and every one!

Happy new year!

May you grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and Man.

Promotions!

Please give a hug and congratulations to Kaldarra MacAlaister, our new Minister of Hospitality! "It is with great pleasure that I accept this position," said Kaldarra. "I hope to continue to bring great pride to this family, and I look forward to serving you all with a great amount of dignity."

Also, we give a warm welcome to Ndyar, Moonwatcher and Slinter, all of whom have recently confirmed as full members of Ancient Guardians!

Council of Elders Established

Our Regent has put out a call for the establishment of a new conclave; the Council of Elders. As our brothers and sisters grow in knowledge, so does their need to go out and hunt the lands that others cannot, to follow the paths of the Ancients more completely as they await their full reward. The Council will see to it that those needs will be met, by making contact with the others of Norrath and submitting names of the ones who would benefit and scheduling times when hunts can take place. They will also be willing occasionally to take time to instruct the younger ones who look up to them. They will keep level heads and humble hearts at all times.

Those qualified to serve at this time are: Aanwen, Avron, Gartrin, Jhales, Ndyar, Reavelin, Saryth, Secen, Vedir, and Viejo.

Gwanalla is asking for nominations of those with a willing mind who would accept the appointment to the Council. There is a place on the message board of the Keep for such.

Winter Celebration

New traditions, old traditions, and old traditions made new! So it will be, this Saturday (Dec. 22st) at 1:00pm CST, as the Guardians meet by the Waterfall in the Stonebrunt Mountains to share a tale, a drink and good friendship! Check the board in the Keep for more information about what you might do to help with the party! Also, please offer Tryssia your help and suggestions to make this a grand time for all!

Shaman Powder Found

Jhales and Viejo report that their search for the elusive Froglok Yun Shamen was successful. They sought a quantity of the mysterious, black Shaman Powder rumoured to be carried by the froglike witch-doctors, and an important ingredient in the preparation of the Shaman epic weapon.

After some rather hair-raising adventures in the jungle of Trakanon's Teeth, both Jhales and Viejo came away both with intact skins and a small quantity of Shaman Powder. Also, a third portion of this Shaman Powder has been put into the Guild storehouse, to be used by another Family member who may have need of it.

Lambent Quest Completed

Brother Radyn Truthsinger reports that he has completed the quest for all eight pieces of the Bardic Lambent Armor.

Welcome New Family Members!

We are overjoyed to welcome several new members into our family! Please extend the warm hand of friendship to Loverlie, Sithl, Kitania, Ndyar, Acrqonn, Goliaith, Freidom, and Moonwatcher.

Space Travel

A new age has dawned, as the Council of Wizards announced the opening of travel to Luclin. After months of research and experimentation, the mighty wizard Al'Kabor has at last unlocked the portal to the pale and mysterious moon of Luclin. He and his companions have traveled to new lands, the likes of which Norrath's adventurers have never seen. Harnessing unspeakable energies, the arch-wizards have channeled this power through the Wizard Spires in Greater Faydark, North Karana, The Dreadlands, and Toxxulia Forest. Read for yourself the Journal of Al'Kabor!

Infected Paw Cleansed

Just as he wished, Jacobwolf was taken on his very first raid! The likes of that which none have recently seen!

A full party of six, including Pajita, Radyn, Gwanalla, Blackmaggie, Jacobwolf and our guest Bebidi, converged on Paw and rushed the gates, striking fear in those awaiting inside! Others came to the determined group with gnolls delivering severe punishment, in hopes of assistance...which was granted. Nary a gnoll survived the keen wit and blade of the party, as they pushed deep into the stronghold. The only thing which saved the innermost sanctum was the call of another land, causing the party to disperse quickly. But....this, too, shall feel the cleansing power of the Guardians...SOON!

Post Your Dings

Have you looked at our Roster lately? Do you see anything wrong? Is your age listed as 12 and you're now 36? *ponders the possibilities* There IS a place in the Tavern where you can brag about your achievements! Post them there, and our Doyen of Dingage will update your record gladly! Aslo, please share any other news of your accomplishments, such as your lastest skill attainment in baking or smithing. Let us know as they happen!

Justice Is Served - Azibelle Spavin Slain

Recently, our sister Jhales was deputized by Vegalys Keldrane of Qeynos as an Investigator in the matter of the Plague of Bertoxxulous, which recently caused so much consternation in the Plains of Karana. Thus empowered, Jhales assembled a group of Family and friends to enter the dank Aqueducts under the city of Qeynos, to discover the fate of the previous Investigator, and either to apprehend or to slay the prime suspect in the case.

Gathered in the posse were Jhales, Secen, Blakmaggie, Ndyar, Viejo, Monto, and Radyn, along with Arrk and Xeckis from the Stormseekers.

"This closed the investigation into the cause of the Karana plague," said Jhales. "Spavin was guilty and was excuted for her crimes.

"Satisfied that the investigation was over, the people of Qeynos awarded me with the Qeynos Badge of Honor (AC:5, STR+4, INT+4, WIS+4, AGI+4, hit point +25, mana +25, and permanent See Invisible effect) which I am very, very happy to have, and is a great improvement over the necklace I wore before."

New Pictures for the Scrapbook!

There has been a recent influx of photos taken by Family members! Since our scrapbook is still new, the more we receive, the better! It will be nice to have a history that we can look back on fondly. Thank you for the memories. Keep them coming!

"There's another one!" was the cry as Guardians assisted Aanwen in an attempt to procure the treasured Embers needed for his Epic quest. Unfortunately, success was not to be ours, but the triumph of the hunt lingered as the group looked with satisfaction at the fallen wurm Nezekezena.

Our Halloween party became the time and place for Bogroot to propose to the Troll of his life, Roserot Swampflower -- a good time only made better by the happiness of all who were there. Since both Bog and Rosie have been out questing on their own quite a bit, this surprise was savored even more by those who saw the big troll get down on his knee and ask for her hand. Now...the burning question: When is the big day??

A beautiful setting for a wedding! Drom and Kaldarra chose Erudin's Crossing for the site of their wedding. Standing above the congregation on a monolith, Gwanalla spoke the words that were so carefully repeated by the couple that would unite them thru life. Norrath was blessed that day, as was the Family and friends gathered to witness the event.

With weddings, come parties! Dromfyre's batchelor party at the Hogcaller Inn in West Freeport was no exception. The appearance of a certain late-arriving Lady guest at the party surprised all in attendance! To this day, we don't know who it may have been, but she put on quite a show... as you can see!

If you have any pictures that you'd like to share with us, please send them to our Scrapbook!

Guardian Chat Updated

For those of you who are interested, you're now able to keep in touch both in Norrath and out! Some of us have been enjoying the company of each other during the daytime, as well as the evenings! Upwards of 10 people and more have been chatting and laughing thru the hours... whether at work, play, or leisure time! You, too, can be part of this. And, for those inhibited by those wacky Corporate Firewalls, we've provided a Web gateway to Guardian Chat. Take a moment and look! This is especially useful during the long patches we go thru now and then.

A new link, entitled Guardian Chat, has been added to the Members pages. Clicking this link will invoke a Web-to-IRC gateway, and let you participate in Guardian Chat using only your Web browser.

Guardian Chat is based on IRC (Internet Relay Chat), and is graciously hosted for us by the Stratics Network. Please note, the Ancient Guardians' Chat gateway has a limit of three concurrent users, so we recommend that you get and install a normal IRC client, such as mIRC or Trillian, and use that if possible. Instructions for configuring mIRC and Trillian to connect with Guardian Chat will be appearing soon on the Members Setup page.

New Event Calendar Added

A new Event Calendar has been installed for all Ancient Guardians! Reachable from the main Web page, the new calendar allows Guild members to write events directly to the calendar for all to see. At the bottom of the Calendar page, there is a link marked Add Events -- click this link to add your event to the calendar. For security reasons, only Guild officers can delete or edit Calendar events, so make your entries with care. If you want to change anything about an existing event, post your changes at the Guardian Keep's Great Hall, or contact one of the Protectors.

Serving With Honor

At The Side of ALL Our Brethren

The Ancient Guardians continue to hold monthly support and buffing stations designed to assist the fledgling nobility of Norrath. Customarily held in heavily-populated areas, guardians are on-hand to answer game questions, provide magical enhancements to fighting abilities, and encourage roleplaying across the land. Check back with us about the Station date and location in November.
