Lord Rak`Ashiir Falls

Posted Friday, July 25, 2003 by Radyn

Last night, in the shrouded ruins of Torsis Ton, two groups of Ancient Guardians chanced upon the ghost of Lord Rak`Ashiir, who provided a worthy challenge and test for our Tactics Team.

Shade of the city's former dictator, Lord Rak is a spectral Iksar king who hits for 200s and casts four spells of Flames of Ro every sixty seconds. This fire-based AE is Rak's real weapon, and it sorely tried the skills of the Guardians who tested Rak's mettle.

Ancient Guardian were victorious over Lord Rak, even though there were no Clerics present. Two Druids were constantly complete-healing, casters nuking until drained of mana, bardic AE resists blanketed the attackers, and the melee fighters pressed Lord Rak from every side. The battle raged for more than six minutes.

In the end, Lord Rak was returned to the netherworld and we retrieved his Ornate Rune Blade. Lots were cast and Gammadim won this wicked-looking two-hander to add to his collection.

Congratulations to the Tactics team on this win. Normally, Lord Rak takes four groups of level 50s.

Gammadim Achieves Warrior Epic

Posted Friday, July 18, 2003 by Radyn

On Tuesday, July 15th, our brother Gammadim became one of the small number of warriors on our server to have completed the Warrior epic weapon quest. The Blade of Strategy and the Blade of Tactics, which combine together to create the Jagged Blade of War, are unique and distinctive-looking weapons with red and blue "light-saber" animation effects.

Congratulations to Gammadim, and to all of the Ancient Guardians and many others who assisted in this long and difficult quest!
