Battles of Epic Proportions

Posted Sunday, October 13, 2002 by Gwanalla

Within the past month, we have had the priviledge of seeing two of our Family members obtain long-sought after prizes: the Orb of the Elements and Nature Walker's Scimitar.

On September 7th, 2002, Aanwen led us to the Plane of Air for his final battle. This is what happened in the words of our own Darksnight Fizzlemaster:

On September the 7th Aanwen Tresblou, our best mage, led a raid on the 7th Isle Plane of Air.

Everybody gathered together well and there were enough people to go ahead with the raid as scheduled. Once up on the Plane, it took a while to have everybody summoned up to the 7th isle, where we prepared for the taxing battles ahead. Occasionaly the sphinx' would death touch a bard or 5 for no reason, but that did not set us back too much.

The outcome was a trip to the inner sanctum to turn in the pieces he had collected. Of the 37 souls that assisted him in getting the crown, Radyn, Gwanalla, Farielle, Zern, Turlokas, Ylona and Phebuss (who had to MQ one piece with Aanwen) witnessed this event.

Final conclusion: One very happy mage!

Dateline: October 6, 2002
Place: Timorous Deep, a hidden lagoon
Objective: Hunt and destroy the perpatrator, Faydedar, and obtain Ylona's final epic component

A stout group of friends and Family arrived at the lagoon to help Ylona Sowgood fend off the advances of a giant tadpole who thinks he's a dragon after she spoke to him kindly. His very breath has been known to kill multitudes who have sought him and failed, however, this time, it was he who lay dead after a valiant battle. The gods made sure all those who fell about him regained their health and blessed the Druidess with the last piece she needed.

So...after one more stop, a weary group made their way to North Karana where the great tree, Xanuusus, stood tall and proud. Whispering to him with shaking voice, Ylona heard his blessing and turned to show the group her prize...the coveted Nature Walker's Scimitar.

Congratulations to both of you! You have made your Family proud.
