Seasons change. The old warrior has marched thru many of them, his blade his constant companion. Many kinds, all different, to deal with the foes he meets line the walls of his room in the Keep. But one blade seemed out of reach for him. One victory stayed just beyond his grasp.
Until last night.
Whacha Spiritwolf accompanied 14 others into the area known as Chardok. The Queen laughed in scorn as news of their arrival traveled the passages. Zarni led the way taking the lifeless form of Rashanda with him. She offered up her life to use Call of Hero and safely wisk the others to the door close to the library. And then the march began!
At first, it seemed the gods had taken the Queen's part. Spells were not working. Frustrations grew. Zarni seemed to grow even shorter as he banged his head into the wall, willing everyone to relax and remember a time before some of the spells that were useless to us then.
Whacha seemed the most frustrated as his stats were less than he believed he needed, but soon he forgot his troubles as the troop started for the hallway that would be the last stand of the royal couple!
Disastor struck as the Queen spewed forth an AoE that quickly dispatched many Guardians. Only the quick work of an enchanter saved the others as the Queen fell and two of her guards tried to avenge her. Four left standing....old friend, Aanwen, set his pet into action and one guard fell as the other attacked those remaining.
And then, before our eyes, the warrior bent over and lifted the blade from the grasp of the Queen. Before our eyes, two blades of light were fashioned and the warrior held his epic prize high and roared with victory!
But...it was not over! The King heard of the death and after a brief discussion with Zarni and an arrow from a ranger's quiver, descended on the party...to no avail. He fell, not far from where the queen did, and Suminea was told to find the note he had in his cloak.
Congratulations to both! A grand night for Family and friends who gave of their time for others!
